CarbonOrO delivers carbon capture solutions to industrial CO2 emitters across industries including waste management, energy, oil &gas and the glass, chemicals, steel, cement and concrete industries. In these hard-to-abate sectors, capturing and storing (or using) CO2 is indispensable to reduce emissions.
Our story
In 2013, having become aware of the potential of carbon capture, CarbonOrO was created. The technology was built upon research from Eindhoven University of Technology, chemical company AkzoNobel and Dutch technology institute TNO. In the following years the technology was further enhanced and researched with TNO and through pilot projects. New feasibility studies commissioned by TotalEnergies and the Global Cement and Concrete Association, also confirmed the technology’s low energy use, low capital costs and low operational cost.
In December 2022, we closed our first external financing and welcomed 3 new shareholders.
